Floors We Install

We install hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinyl tile, tile flooring, laminate flooring, carpet installation and carpet tile, vinyl composition tile, and stair flooring. Each material has its own prep and its own clock: tile needs thinset cure time before grout, solid hardwood needs to acclimate, and carpet goes down in a day once the tack strip is set. We plan your schedule around those real requirements, so the dates we give you are dates the material can actually meet.

  • Installer kneeling on an OSB subfloor, using an air nailer to fasten oak hardwood boards in a hallway, with loose boards stacked along the wall

    Hardwood Flooring

Engineered and solid hardwood installed over slab or plywood, with moisture testing and a written schedule that shows every acclimation and install day.

  • Installer in jeans and knee pads clicking gray-brown wood-look vinyl planks onto a concrete slab, with black spacers along the white baseboard

    Luxury Vinyl Plank

Rigid-core vinyl plank installed over a checked, leveled slab, with a written timeline that tells you which day each room is done.

  • Tile setter kneeling on a concrete slab, troweling thinset beside rows of large gray porcelain tiles with white spacers, a bucket nearby in an unfinished hallway

    Tile Flooring

Porcelain and ceramic tile set over a flattened, crack-isolated slab, with thinset and grout cure times written into your schedule.

  • Installer kneeling on blue foam underlayment, tapping gray-brown laminate planks into place with a rubber mallet along a hallway wall with spacers at the baseboard

    Laminate Flooring

Click-lock laminate over a flat, moisture-protected subfloor, with the install days and arrival window set before we start.

  • Installer in a navy T-shirt and jeans kneels on new beige carpet, using a carpet stretcher to push the carpet toward the tack strip along a white bedroom wall

    Carpet Installation

New carpet and pad installed over fresh tack strip, power stretched so it stays flat, on a date we set with you and keep you updated on.

  • Installer kneeling on a bare concrete slab, pressing gray carpet tiles into rows in an empty beige-walled room, with open cartons of tiles beside him

    Carpet Tile

Modular carpet squares glued down on a prepped slab, laid in the pattern you pick, with single tiles you can swap out later when a spill won't come up.

  • Flooring installer kneeling in an empty bedroom, clicking wood-look vinyl planks into place with spacers lined along the white baseboard and a stack of planks nearby

    Luxury Vinyl Tile

Stone and ceramic looks in a warm, water-resistant vinyl tile, installed over a checked and flattened slab on a schedule you know ahead of time.

  • Installer kneeling on a concrete subfloor, fitting a wood-look vinyl plank into fresh rows with black spacers along a white baseboard

    Vinyl Composition Tile

Durable 12-inch VCT for garages, laundry rooms, hobby spaces and retro kitchens, set in thin-spread adhesive and sealed with several coats of finish.

  • Installer kneeling on a staircase, tapping a dark hardwood stair tread into place with a rubber mallet and block, with extra planks stacked on the bare subfloor nearby

    Stair Flooring

New treads, risers and nosing in hardwood, vinyl plank, laminate or carpet, fitted step by step and matched to the floor at the top and bottom.

How a Flooring Job Runs With Us

Every job follows the same order, so you know what is happening and when.

  1. 1

    Phone call and measure visit

You call, tell us which rooms and which flooring you are considering, and we set a visit time. At the visit we measure, check the subfloor for flatness and moisture, and note doorways, stairs and transitions.

  2. 2

    Written estimate and install window

You get a line-item estimate and a proposed start date with the number of working days. Once you approve, we order material and confirm the window in writing.

  3. 3

    Material arrival and acclimation

Products that need it, such as solid and engineered hardwood and some laminates, are delivered ahead so they can adjust to your home's temperature and humidity. We tell you where the boxes will sit and for how long.

  4. 4

    Install days

You get an arrival window the evening before each work day. We remove the old floor, prep the subfloor, install, and fit trim and transitions, keeping you updated if cure times or a subfloor repair shift the finish date.

  5. 5

    Final look and haul-away

Before we pack up, you and the crew lead go room by room over the new floor. We cover the care timing that matters for your material, like how long before grout sees a wet mop or heavy furniture returns to fresh carpet. Then the old flooring, pad and offcuts get loaded onto our truck and leave with us.

What Moves the Price of a New Floor

Your quote depends on more than square footage. The condition of what sits under your current floor and how much prep it needs often matter as much as the product you pick. Here is what we look at when we measure.

We measure your rooms, check the subfloor, and then give you a written estimate with each line item listed, along with the install window it fits into. You get your quote by phone after the visit, so there is time to look it over before you commit.

Flooring material and format
Large-format porcelain, site-installed hardwood and patterned layouts take more labor per square foot than a click-lock laminate. Plank width, tile size and layout direction all change cut waste and install time.
Removal of the old floor
Pulling carpet and pad is quick. Breaking up glued-down tile or scraping old adhesive off a slab takes longer and creates more debris to haul away.
Slab and subfloor prep
Most homes in the area sit on concrete slabs, and rigid floors need them flat within tight tolerances. Grinding high spots, filling low spots with self-leveling compound, or adding a moisture barrier all add time and material.
Room count and layout
Closets, hallways, doorways and kitchen islands mean more cuts and more transitions. Open floor plans often run faster per square foot than a series of small rooms.
Stairs and trim details
Each stair tread and riser is fitted by hand, and stair nosing, quarter round and baseboard work are priced separately from the field of the floor.
Furniture and appliances
Moving heavy furniture, disconnecting a refrigerator water line or pulling and resetting toilets adds labor that we spell out instead of folding into a vague total.

Why Homeowners Plan Their Week Around Our Dates

Most flooring delays come from things that were knowable on day one: a slab that tests wet, a backordered transition piece, a room that was measured short. We look for those up front so the schedule holds.

Timelines built from the material, not a guess
We set your install window after we know the flooring type, square footage and subfloor condition. A three-room LVP job and a kitchen of porcelain tile on thinset do not take the same number of days, and we tell you which days your rooms will be out of use.
Arrival windows you can rely on
The day before work starts, you get a specific arrival window for the next morning. If the crew is running long on a prior job, we call you before that window opens, not after it closes.
Material checked before the first day
We confirm that flooring, underlayment, adhesive, trim and transition strips are on hand before we lock your start date. Short lots and wrong dye lots get caught in the warehouse instead of in your living room.
A call when the plan changes
Sometimes a subfloor surprises us once the old floor comes up, like a cracked slab or soft plywood around a toilet flange. We stop, show you what we found, explain what it adds to the timeline, and let you decide before we move forward.
Clean exits each day
On multi-day jobs we leave rooms walkable at the end of each shift, with tools gathered and dust swept. You should be able to cook dinner and get to bed without stepping over a wet saw.

About Flooring Katy

We are a flooring installation company working inside homes in and around Katy, TX. Our work starts below the visible surface: slab flatness, moisture readings, underlayment choice and expansion gaps at walls and cabinets. Those details decide whether a floor stays tight and quiet for years or starts to peak, gap or crack grout lines.

We also know that a flooring job takes over part of your house for a few days. Kids, pets, work-from-home calls and a kitchen you cannot use all have to fit around it. That is why we put so much effort into dates. We would rather give you a realistic four-day window and finish on day four than promise two days and leave you guessing on day three.

Questions We Hear Before a Floor Goes In

Something not covered here? (346) 559-3108

How long will my flooring installation take?

It depends on the material, the square footage and the subfloor. Carpet in a few bedrooms is often a single day. Luxury vinyl plank across a main floor may take two to three days, and tile runs longer because thinset and grout need cure time between steps. We give you the number of working days in writing before material is ordered.

What happens if the schedule changes?

We call you as soon as we know, whether it is a delivery delay, a longer-than-expected job before yours, or a subfloor repair we uncover once the old floor is up. You get the reason and a new date, not a no-show. If a change affects cost, we explain that before any extra work starts.

Do I need to be home during the work?

Someone needs to be there to let the crew in at the start of the arrival window and for the final walkthrough. In between, many homeowners go about their day. We will tell you which rooms will be closed off and whether water or power to any area needs to be shut off.

Why does hardwood need to sit in my house before you install it?

Wood takes on or loses moisture until it matches the air around it. If boards go down before they settle to your home's conditions, they can shrink and gap in dry months or swell and cup in humid ones. We build that acclimation time into your schedule so it is not a surprise.

Can you install over my concrete slab?

Yes, most of our jobs are over slab. We check it for moisture and flatness first. A slab that is out of flat can cause click-lock floors to separate and tile to crack, so we grind or level where needed and use a vapor barrier when readings call for one.

Do you move the furniture?

We can move standard furniture out of the work area and back again, and we list that on the estimate. Fragile items, electronics and the contents of china cabinets and bookshelves are best cleared by you ahead of time.

What if something goes wrong with the install after you leave?

All installations come with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If a seam lifts, a transition strip loosens or another problem traced to our installation appears within that year, phone us. We will put a visit on the calendar, inspect it and explain what we found.
